The goal for ultra-low power devices is never-ending. This article explains a technique to improve their energy efficiency, by means of sysclock tick reconfiguration during runtime.

The reconfiguration of the sysclock timer allows the device to be in its lowest power mode and awakes the CPU only when necessary, avoiding useless periodical awakenings to increase the sysclock tick counter.
