Rosemont, Ill.—Sola/Hevi-Duty's SDU Series of off-line uninterruptible power supplies (UPSes) are designed to mount on a DIN rail to provide protection for sensitive electronics (including industrial computers, robotics, automation and process control equipment) on the factory floor. With a compact footprint and minimal weight (11 lbs.), the SDU can also be installed in a control panel or easily integrated into an enclosure or machine where space considerations are at a premium.
Two versions are offered initially, both available in 500 and 800 VA versions: A 120-volt model that meets UL 1778 for Industrial Application Standards, and a 230-volt model that is CE compliant. The standard UPS, including batteries, operates at extended temperature ranges up to +50°C without derating.
Other key features include a rugged, industrial grade steel enclosure; strong metal DIN-rail mounting connectors; input/output IP20-rated screw terminals; self-diagnostic capabilities and alarm outputs; data line surge
protection; and DB9 communication interface.
Additional information is available at www.solaheviduty.com/products/UPS/sdu.htm. The Sola/Hevi-Duty SDU UPS is expected to ship in late July. List pricing starts at $249. It is backed by a two-year limited warranty.
