Taipei, Taiwan — E-One Moli Energy Corp.(Molicel) has unveiled its new generation of high-power lithium-ion batteries at the 14th International Meeting on Lithium Batteries (IMLB 2008), June 22-28, in Tianjin, China.
E-One Moli used advanced spinel technology to develop a new formula of high-power lithium-ion battery. The new generation of manganese (spinel)-based lithium-ion battery features higher rate capability and longer cycle life.
The high-power battery offers a capacity retention rate of more than 80% after 1200 cycles and is said to deliver excellent safety features even under harsh environments. With the advanced spinel technology, E-One Moli said the new battery technology promises high-power density, excellent safety, long cycle life, and low material cost.
Projected applications include cordless power tools, cordless garden tools, electric bicycles, HEV and PHEV.
